McCann Systems Brings AV Behind the Red Door
- New York, NY (2008) – McCann Systems, an innovative design-build audio visual firm, has recently infused Elizabeth Arden’s new Fifth Avenue flagship store with cutting-edge audio visual elements. Even before opening the iconic Elizabeth Arden Red Door, passersby are intrigued by compelling video, which can easily be seen through the new glass façade. Working closely with architect Glenn Leitch, Principle of Highland Associates, McCann Systems created a technically advance, custom designed duel-curved video screen. This one-of-a-kind “S” shaped screen uses a rear-projection sled and outboard geometry correction to allow for perfect video across a duel-curved surface. McCann coordinated efforts with Highland Associates to introduce this custom designed hi-tech video wall into the architect’s vision.
- In addition to video, McCann Systems also introduced all audio elements into the new Elizabeth Arden flagship store. In keeping with Leitch’s slick design, speakers were built into the ceiling – literally roughed into the sheetrock, taped and spackled – creating a seamless look, invisible to the eye.
- This recent AV integration by McCann Systems for Elizabeth Arden is another example of how luxury retailers see the need for AV specialists to improve a shopper’s experience. As a design-build audio visual integrator, McCann Systems is experiencing a spike in interest by retailers to introduce innovative AV design into their retail environments. McCann has recently integrated AV for a number of luxury retailers, including Elie Tahari (East Hampton), NHL Powered by Reebok (New York) and Nintendo World (New York).
